Welcome Message from the AFR&PM'25 Organizers

The 2025 International Symposium on Advanced Fire Retardants and Polymer Materials (AFR&PM'25) will take place in Brisbane, Australia, from August 4 to 8, 2025!

As society and industry evolve rapidly, fire safety has become a critical focus for governments, industries, and communities alike. Fire-retardant materials are increasingly employed across a wide range of sectors, including construction, automotive, electronics, aerospace, rail transportation, and marine industries, contributing significantly to economic and social development. This growing demand brings heightened expectations for fire retardancy performance, smoke toxicity reduction, and environmental sustainability.

At the same time, transformative advancements in technologies such as renewable energy, 5G communications, low-carbon solutions, and big data have presented both opportunities and challenges for the field of fire retardancy. Over the last two decades, international standards for fire-retardant materials have seen significant alignment, and Australia, along with global leaders, continues to innovate in this space. The symposium will provide a platform for sharing breakthroughs in fire-retardant theories, technologies, and applications while fostering international collaboration in addressing emerging challenges in fire safety.

The AFR&PM'25 will be hosted by University of Southern Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. The symposium themes include:

We look forward to welcoming experts and scholars from industry, academia, professional associations, testing laboratories, and regulatory bodies to Brisbane for AFR&PM'25. Join us as we explore advancements and collaborations in the field of fire retardancy!
